Lazy...or convenient?
Convenient! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
I'm talking about Amazon.com here.

Anyone else use it...for EVERYTHING??? Chris and I do! Dog food, paper towels, shampoo, birthday gifts, you name it...if it isn't on Amazon, we don't need it!
Some might think that its laziness. I guess I can see that. But it keeps ME out of the stores, where I could potentially be buying tons of other crap I don't need. And it keeps Christopher focused on the task at hand. He gets distracted, and could come home with 4 different kinds of ice cream. but forget the toilet paper that he went to Target to buy!
I'm not sure how we ever survived without Amazon prime! Its not just online shopping in this house, its a way of life!

In the dog house...
Yay! We finally got the keys and we are slowly, but surely moving all of our things into our new home!
I now have a place where I can Blog about my dog while sitting in a chair, rather than laying in bed...which sounds great, but when that's your only option, it gets a little uncomfortable!
So far, Osc is LOVING it! I was a little worried about him being an "only child," since he has not been alone since he was 7 months old, but he does not seem to miss the Fab Five from my Mom and Dad's house.
He runs up and down and up and down and up and down our hallway, bringing Christopher and I one toy at a time, until he wears himself out. Every night so far, at about 7:30pm, he lays in Chris' lap and can hardly hold his little eyes open!
we have not installed his little fence yet, so I have been walking him on his harness/leash...and so far so good. Its not as big of a pain in the butt as I thought it would be. I even let him off leash on Monday for a bit and he didn't tear off into the street! As soon as I say the word "cookie," he runs right back up onto the front porch and waits for me. A boy after his momma's heart!!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!! I'm half way through my week of no working, next week its back to the grind, and I start my new job. Looking forward to it! I'm just not cut out to be a housewife!!

Skullz
So it's no secret that Oscar and I are moving this next week!
I did this little crayon drawing about 6 months ago as a part of my good friend Michelle and I's pinterest motivational challenge. (You can read more about them here, here, and here)
Pinterest challenges were the brain-child of Michelle to try and get our butts in gear and start DOING some of the 100s of projects that we were pinning. We have only done 3 to date (Michelle has done 4! Ack!)
Anyway, I just wanted to share this and say that:
1.) I am SO excited to finally have a place to hang this!
2.) Can't wait to have space in my new craft room to start crafting again!!

Compressed Rawhide, a review
We tried MANY different toys prior to finally settling on compressed raw hide bones, like the one he is snuggling with above. Most plastic and/or rubber toys he can shred into 1000 tiny bits in 5 minutes or less, thus wasting my time and money. String/knot bones and plush toys are the same way, and he sometimes chokes on the fibers if they get stuck in his mouth and throat. Greenies, Bully sticks, and other bones that are for chewing and eventually swallowing, only last a few minutes as well. He just eats them like they are a snack.
Even the toys that many Petsmart salesman tell me are for "strong chewers," or are "indestructible" are no match for my 14 pound wonder wiener!
Of course, I did my research prior to giving my pup the raw hides, and was met with mixed reviews. Some say that they are somewhat dangerous, because they can contain traces of toxins, left over from the cows. To that I say, OK sure, whatever. He runs around my grandfather's farm and all over our friend's property with cows and other animals. He is a country dog and has been exposed to other animals for most of his life, so I don't worry about that at all!
The other main argument against raw hides, is that they can cause GI or stomach upset when pieces of it break off and are swallowed. Naturally, I don't want to cause him more harm than good, but he only swallows TINY pieces during his one-hour-plus long chew sessions. The boy usually chews himself to sleep, and I check the bone, it doesn't get much smaller with one chew...usually about a 1/2 inch smaller over the course of a week or two. I feel like this is much safer than him chewing and swallowing an entire greenie bone and pooping green for 2 days, or swallowing the fluff out of a plush squeaker toy and hacking up stuffing all day.
All in all, I feel like I make the right choice by giving him these bones. He loves them, and the extent to which he can sit there and just chew for hours on end if he needs to really soothes him. The only complaint that I would have is that they can be very messy. The spot where he sits usually has a thin, slimy layer of goo from his slobber and the bone. If he is on the couch or my bed, I'll just put a towel under him and he is good to go. If he is in his own bed, then he just has at it.
What is your dogs favorite chewy? Anyone else have monster chewers?

It's a blog...about my dog!
Hi I'm Emily and this is a blog...about my dog, Oscar, and a little bit about me (when he allows.)
You will read more and more about us as time goes on, but Oscar is a 4 year old mini-dachshund. Silver dapple in color, one blue eye...one brown. He is pretty much a super hero. No, I'm not just saying that. I have migraines so bad that I have passed out several times. Who licks his Momma until she wakes up, and barks until someone comes? That's right. Oscar Mayer Man! He loves compressed raw hide, cantaloupe, sleeping in momma's bed and watching Judge Judy.
I am a professional boo boo fixer, I craft in my spare time and sell Initials Inc. I love like crazy, and sometimes hold grudges a little longer than I should. I love good peoples and good times. I miss my grandma every day. I love being a doggie-momma, but can't wait to be a real baby momma. I love to make messes. I hate cleaning them up. I have irrational fears of revolving doors and glitter.
I have a bad habit of blogging, and naming my blog after things that change. You can find my previous, kick ass writing/pics/projects at
www.RosenberghFam.blogspot.com where I wrote about being a young, newlywed, crafty things, etc. Most of the "happy" newly wed stuff was complete crap...so ignore that. This blog became obsolete when Oscar and I got the HELL out of a very unhappy situation and came HOME!! to Virginia to be with the people we love!
www.JustwWhemandOsc.blogspot.com is where you can find the post-divorce blogging and crafting. Just me and the Osc man...livin' it up. I don't really feel that "JUST Whem and Osc" is really appropriate anymore, because we have so many important people in our lives now. We have my family, and we have Christopher...my mouse, my jellybeanz, my backbone! We love him, and he loves us.
